Synæsthesia Project

One year of visual and synesthetic documentation across Southeast Asia. After traveling nine countries, the journey led me to Nepal, where a Vipassana retreat became the final act of observation: my own body. A sensory pilgrimage toward unity with the earth.

Definition: syn, “Together,” and æsthesia, “Sensation.”
Synesthesia is an invitation to experience the colors of the world through the body.
Sensations that, little by little, lead us to a primal memory:
unity with the earth.

This journey, reminiscent of a pilgrimage, affirms my worldview:
a world where nature, ancestral heritage, and communion with the body are one.

The footage was shot in India, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Music by: Kokoroko - Abusey Junction.
